Patent Search
Legal
To protect yourself and your business in the long run, you need to put in place a few legal issues in place especially when you’re coming up with a new product.
Step A: Patent Search
Google Patents
A patent is an exclusive right granted to an inventor of a product or service by the federal government having the power to exclude others from making, using or selling it for defined period of time.
Founded in 2006, Google patents makes it possible to search millions of patents internationally. Before investing hours and money into something, it’s worthwhile to check if it has been done before.
U.S. Patent Search
While Google may be a convenient way to search for patents online, diving deeper to access older patents may require some physical effort.
United States Patent and Trademark Office is a great place to diversify and broaden your search for US patents.
